Consumable materials must be purchased for your projects. Prices vary by material.
3D Printing Services
Filament 3D printers work like a hot glue gun that moves around automatically, laying down melted plastic in thin layers to build up a solid object from a computer design.
Our 3D printer is a compact, enclosed desktop 3D printer with a build volume of 15 x 15 x 15 cm.
It’s capable of printing with a wide range of materials, including:
PLA, ABS, ASA, PETG, HIPS, Nylon, and TPU.

How to Order 3D Prints
3D Printing can take hours or days depending on the object. Because of this, we have our patrons order a print to be picked up and paid for upon completion.
Just like with our paper printer, patrons have to provide a print file to use in our 3D printer. We accept files in the STL, 3MF, and STEP file formats. There are many 3D print files available online on websites like www.printables.com
The default material we print with is PLA, a popular bioplastic that comes in a wide variety of colours. If we don’t have the material or colour you want, we are happy to order it in and add it to our collection.
The cost of a print depends on the amount of plastic required to make it. For PLA prints the cost is $0.10/ gram of plastic.
PLEASE NOTE: 3D Prints must comply with our library code of conduct. We will not print anything that exists to cause harm or promote bigotry.
Computer Access
We have 4 computers with high speed internet access, available for public use.
One of our computers has assistive technology for the visually impaired on a height adjustable table.
We also have an Early Literacy Computer for children.
Computer use is limited to 30 minutes. If no other patrons are waiting to use the computers your time on them is unlimited.
Internet Use Policy
The Library’s internet is a shared public resource. Please use it responsibly and in accordance with Library policies.
