The McKellar Township Public Library is delighted to welcome David Wickenden for a special author visit on November 24 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.
Readers of thrillers know that the most compelling stories often come from writers with firsthand experience of the worlds they describe. David Wickenden brings exactly that kind of authenticity to his work.
Before becoming a full-time author, Wickenden served in both the Canadian Armed Forces and the Fire Service, building a career dedicated to helping others in high-pressure situations. During more than three decades in the fire service, he rose to the rank of Deputy Fire Chief, led teams through emergency situations, and helped save lives through rescue work, CPR, and defibrillator interventions. Those experiences now inform the tension, realism, and high stakes that readers find in his fiction.
During this special event, attendees will have the opportunity to learn about Wickenden’s journey from military service and emergency response to becoming a published novelist, hear about his writing process, and discover the real-world experiences that shape his stories.
